Manfredonia, 19 May 2026 – ‘Donne al Comando’, the popular TGR Puglia programme dedicated to stories of female leadership, made a stop in the Foggia area. In today’s episode, journalist Maria Grazia Lombardi interviewed Filomena Sacco, director at Fimagri and President of Confcooperative Agroalimentare e Pesca Puglia, one of the few women representing the sector.

Having grown up in the agri-food sector, Sacco began her talk by retracing the key stages in the founding of Fimagri, established in 2004 on the initiative of a group of Apulian farmers who, after sharing experiences and projects, decided to play a direct role in promoting local produce.
Thanks to a passion for agricultural work, strong ties to the local area, specific expertise and a constant drive for innovation, Fimagri has established itself as a specialist vegetable producer, bringing together over a hundred farms under a single umbrella.

“To compete in a tough market like today’s, we must focus
on the growth of supply chains,” Sacco stated during the interview, before offering a profound reflection on the role of women in the workplace and on balancing work with the important phase of motherhood.
